Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the MonoBox platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. MonoBox is operated by MonoBox GmbH, a company registered in Basel, Switzerland.

2. Description of Service

MonoBox provides valet storage, cataloguing, and peer-to-peer rental/sale services for physical items. We arrange pickup, AI-powered identification, climate-controlled storage, and delivery of your belongings. Additional verticals include bike storage, baby gear, wardrobe management, insurance documentation, downsizing assistance, and SME document archival.

3. User Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use MonoBox. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

4. Storage & Item Handling

  • Items must be legal to store and transport within Switzerland.
  • Prohibited items include: hazardous materials, perishable goods, firearms, illegal substances, and living organisms.
  • MonoBox photographs and catalogues items upon receipt. You acknowledge AI-based identification may not be 100% accurate.
  • Items are stored in climate-controlled, insured facilities in the Basel region.
  • MonoBox is not liable for normal wear, pre-existing damage, or items incorrectly declared.

5. Subscriptions & Payment

Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You authorize recurring charges to your payment method. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the billing period. Prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF) and include VAT (MwSt) where applicable. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of the initial purchase.

6. Peer-to-Peer Marketplace

MonoBox facilitates rental and sale transactions between users. MonoBox is not a party to these transactions and acts solely as an intermediary. A platform fee of 10% applies to marketplace transactions. Disputes between users should first be resolved directly; MonoBox may mediate but is not obligated to do so.

7. Liability

MonoBox insures stored items up to CHF 2,000 per item against theft, fire, and water damage while in our facilities. Higher coverage is available as an add-on. MonoBox is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the preceding 12 months.

8. Termination

You may cancel your subscription and request retrieval of all items at any time. Uncollected items after account termination will be held for 90 days; after which MonoBox may dispose of them at its discretion. MonoBox may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Basel-Stadt, Switzerland.
